Carters Packaging Sponsoring Local Club
A couple of shots from the Redruth Cricket Club, which is one of our ongoing local sponsorship programmes. We take pride in helping out the local community and doing our bit for the clubs. We consider it an ongoing tradition of sorts, with some of our staff being actively engaged with rugby, football and cricket around the local area of Redruth.
Our Eco-friendly Ethos
Our family-run business cares a great deal about our environment and especially our Cornish coastline. We take pride in supporting plastic-free beachside towns like Perranporth, St.Ives and Falmouth, and do whatever we can for businesses to help them move to eco-friendly alternatives where possible. Around a year ago we fitted solar panels at our work premises to help reduce our carbon footprint, we have had major electrical work done regarding motion sensors to help reduce lights unnecessarily being left on.
Recycling
A lot of packaging is reusable and recyclable. Recycling should be considered a very important approach to reducing our waste and we encourage all our customers to get the most out of your products. We recycle a lot of packaging each week including paper, plastics and cardboard using a local firm to collect and distribute to the right recycling channels.
EcoWare and Vegware Packaging
For all those seeking out environmentally friendly packaging, particularly food-related products; we now stock Vegware and our EcoWare collection. These categories feature biodegradable or compostable materials which in most cases are made from PLA (plants). The food industry has seen a great demand for eco-friendly packaging and we are doing our best to meet this demand but, alongside that, we are branching out, including items like biodegradable refuse sacks and pushing our existing line of biodegradable loose-fill chips (corn starch). There are lots of changes happening and we will do our best to bring you alternatives when we can.
If you have questions about any of these topics or product lines, please do get in touch.
The Carters team.

Food for Thought
As the movement against plastics rallies strength, it is important to consider all perspectives and facts.
The BBC recently released a news article titled: The trade-off is hard to fathom.
It addresses some important issues surrounding waste and the practical use of plastics in our food industry. If you are interested, you can read the article here.
The Great Debate
We were provided some very interesting statistics regarding the use of paper and plastic. We wanted to share so that we as a society can appreciate there is no easy answer but, we all know things need to change.
GDPR Law Change

The Best of Both Worlds, Your Design - Our Packaging!
Packaging is not always considered high up on the list of "essential elements" for a business; it can be put-off and neglected for numerous reasons including time, budget, awareness, creativity or lack of a marketing strategy.
Gaining exposure for your brand/services/products by utilising packaging can be highly beneficial to your business and could help you gain a bigger audience, encourage social trends and most importantly - increase overall revenue.
Now bespoke packaging can be approached in different ways and identifying which methods suit your product/business is essential and key to its success. Labels or stickers are a great initial step to promoting your brand, especially when your budget may be stretched thin. Once you have revenue to work with, printed packaging such as bags, cups or boxes are your next big step (and an incredibly exciting one).
Another aspect of packaging to then utilise is by promotional material inside. Leaflets, vouchers or even adverts for other relevant products which suit your sector, product ranges or trends can be put inside say a bag or box. Vouchers may help attract further sales by encouraging return visitors to shop again or spread the word. After all feeling appreciated goes a long way and those who take the time to acknowledge this customer focused consideration could see a return on their efforts.
We work with businesses both large and small, and have done for over 40 years. So trust us when we say we can help provide you with ideas and packaging tailored to both your specification and budget. We can take a design idea, brand or logo and provide a price on various quantities, materials and sizes (the more information you provide the quicker and more accurate the quote).
