Our boilable vacuum pouches are suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°C right up to +121°C making them suitable for an array of cook-in-bag applications.
The sous-vide style of cooking, in particular, has become increasingly popular in both commercial and domestic kitchens as the benefits of the process become more widely known. This method involves cooking food sealed in airtight plastic bags in a water bath or a temperature-controlled steam environment for longer than normal cooking times at lower than normal, accurately regulated temperatures. The result is evenly cooked food throughout, without overcooking the outside, with retained moisture and enhanced flavours (juices and aromas are not lost as can be the case with other cooking methods, and enclosed additional ingredients such as spices or marinades transmit their flavour more intensely throughout the whole process). In addition to the excellently cooked food it produces, this style of cooking is attractive as the food can be prepped in advance, stored for relatively long periods, then retrieved as and when needed. Perfect for busy kitchens and also highly practical in smaller kitchen environments where space is limited, as these pouches require little storage room which is always a bonus.
